*We are spraying all the wide, leafy grass types (mainly Kentucky Blue Grass, and Perennial Rye Grass ) out of the Collars.
*These undesirable grasses were planted sometime in the 1970's, 80's and 90's.
*The results of this project will be Collars that are very consistent in texture, similar to the putting surfaces.
*The dark green areas are the areas we sprayed with round up to kill the undesirable grasses.
*The new turf will be planted into the existing stand and should be mature by late fall.
* Thanks for everyones understanding as we continue to improve our golf course.

Asian Longhorned Beetle has been found in southern Ohio. It arrived from China when it hitched a ride on some wood crates. International commerce could bring it to Columbus in the future. It likes to feed on maples, but will attack all species of hardwoods.
Should we be worried????? This beetle is a much slower mover than the Emerald Ash Borrer and it takes 5-8 years for it to kill a tree.
The beetle has been found in Chicago and New Jersey in the past and the local and federal government agencies were successful in eradicating it.
Entomologists do not believe this pest will be something that can not be controlled should it ever enter the Central Ohio area. For more information on this beetle and the Emerald Ash Borrer go to http://www.ashalert.osu.edu/
